Muscle-skeletal conditions
Acupuncture for muscle-skeletal conditions:
Acupuncture is extremely effective in treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Some specific conditions that we have found acupuncture works well for are; back pain (upper, middle, low), tennis elbow, neck pain, frozen shoulder, knee, ankle and foot problems, bursitis, sciatica, stenosis, carpal tunnel, and trigger finger. Acupuncture is based on a Chinese medical system consisting of meridians, or energy channels, that run throughout the body. Any time one of these channels becomes blocked we experience pain. Acupuncture can unblock the flow of energy and thus get rid of pain. From a Western perspective the needles can be inserted at points in the body where nerve and muscle fibers come together. The result is retraining the muscles, decreasing inflammation, increasing healthy blood flow to the injured area, and releasing opiates to resolve the pain and heal the area.
Acupuncture for Arthritis:
As our bodies’ age we start to notice the wear and tear that we have inflicted throughout the years. Joints do not lubricate as well as they used to, spaces become smaller between bones, and we experience inflammation and pain as a result.
Acupuncture can help relieve the chronic pain and inflammation of arthritis. By inserting tiny needles into the effected area we can clam the inflammation and help to bring blood and fluids to the area to help better lubricate joints. We can also treat the underlying cause of this inflammation, or why your body became arthritic while someone else you know did not. Acupuncture is an excellent alternative for maintaining your active lifestyle with the minimum amount of pain. You do not just have to accept that pain comes with getting older.
